Religious belonging - estimations
Since the 1965 census, questionnaires no longer contain questions on religious belonging. The figures below are therefore estimations:
Sunni Muslims: 55 million
Alevis: 15 million
Greek Orthodox: 25, 000 to 35, 000 (of which only 4, 000 – 5, 000 are Greek speaking. The remaining are Arabic speakers from Antioch)
Armenian Orthodox: 60, 000 to 70, 000
Jews: 20,000 to 30,000
