Mariages
In Latvia, the Article 51 of the Civil Law gives the right to issue a notification of marriage to eight religious organizations (churches). This means that marriages with legal effect can be registered by Evangelical Lutherans, Roman Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Old Believers, Baptists, Methodists, Seventh-day Adventists, and Jews.
