Catholicisme en Europe

In October 2018, numbers provided by the Fides Agency inform that the number of Catholics is increasing on all continents except Europe, where it is decreasing for the third year in a row (- 240,000).
Europe gathers 22% of the Catholics of the world, representing 39,76% of the population of the continent. There has been an important decrease in the number of priests (- 2,583), of monks (- 614), and of nuns (- 8,370). Lay missionaries are also less numerous in Europe (- 921).

See information given by Fides Agency.

The 2015 report of the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) provides a global overview of trends in the Catholic Church (the workforce of the Church, sacraments, education, lay ministries, and welfare institutions).
